President's Roster Letter

To The Houston Chapter Members:

I look forward to a very exciting year that is ahead of us and of being this year’s chapter president. We are getting our new year started and have planned our topics and speakers for the year. Lynette Pebernat has done a fine job on lining up some excellent topics and obtained some excellent speakers for these topics. I also want to thank Louise Crider for her efforts on the roster in addition to all of the other board members who have helped me so far and will be helping me the rest of this year to make it a successful year.

One of the goals of the chapter is to provide quality CPE and networking opportunities to the chapter members. I would like to personally invite each member to take advantage of these educational and networking opportunities that the chapter will be offering and to have you join us at the monthly meetings. At the end of April, we are also planning on an all day CPE session that we will be conducting with the IMA Texas Council. I hope to see many of you at the monthly meetings this year so that we can talk and I can get to know you if we have not yet had the opportunity.

We also need to have the “new blood” belonging to the young professionals participate in the chapter meetings and operations. By contributing their ideas and vision, they can help drive where and what this chapter will be in the future.

Anyone can attend and get involved with the chapter at our board meetings. We normally meet the first Thursday of the month and all but one of the remaining meetings for the year will be by phone. If you would like to participate, please let me know and I will provide you with the call in number. Board participation is a rewarding experience and a wonderful career growth opportunity. We are always looking for members to join the board and provide their perspective on the chapter operation.

On behalf of our chapter membership, I would like to thank Karen Russom as president and the entire chapter board for the job they did during our 2008-2009 year. We greatly appreciate their efforts in the past as well as their ongoing contributions to the operations of this chapter!
